The Fuselage

Nestled among the Madrones at the top of our 9-acre mountain property, this unique glamping cabin is the only one of its kind in North America. Crafted by Tree Tents and imported from the UK, The Fuselage offers an elevated retreat amongst the trees, comfortably accommodating two adults. The Scandinavian-inspired interior features a wood-burning stove, a cozy seating area that transforms into a double bed, a compact refrigerator, a sink, and an electric kettle for your morning tea or coffee. Full luxury bedding is available, but many choose to bring their own sleeping bags and pillows for an authentic camping experience on the cushy bed. Outside, an expansive deck connects the cabin to the Fuselage Link, where you’ll find a full private bathroom with a flushing toilet, sink, and shower, along with a private gas fire pit and BBQ cooking area.

You can park directly in front of the private cabin for easy access, all while soaking in the peaceful views of the surrounding redwoods and ridgeline meadow. A short stroll will take you to a rustic log bridge over a tranquil creek, leading to the top of the hillside—an ideal spot for stargazing. Feel free to explore the rest of the property or hike through the nearby 100+ acre logging reserve. The Boulder Creek Golf and Country Club is also within walking distance, offering golf, disc golf, and dining at their bar and restaurant.

The Tree Tent

Suspended 25 feet above the ground in the majestic redwoods, this is the only glamping pod of its kind in North America. The Tree Tent, designed and imported from the UK, offers a secluded and cozy treetop escape. Accommodating 2-3 guests, its European-inspired interior features a wood-burning stove, benches that convert into a double and single bed, ample storage, lighting, a small desk, and power outlets for charging devices. Bring your own sleepless bags and pillows for an authentic camping experience that breathes with the trees throughout the night.

Outside, a stair ladder steps down to an elevated deck overlooking the creek, where you can relax on modern seating around a gas fire pit while soaking in the panoramic views of the meadow and ridgeline of the Santa Cruz Mountains. When you need a break from the sun, retreat to the shaded area beneath the deck, which offers two hammocks and a handmade redwood table for dining. Also designed by Tree Tents, the fully private outdoor Wash Pods include a plumbed toilet, sink, and shower with warm water, adding comfort and open-air convenience to a one-of-a-kind treehouse experience.

You can park directly in front of the private treehouse for easy access, adjacent to the surrounding forrest, creek, and ridgeline meadow. A short stroll will take you to a rustic log bridge over a tranquil creek, leading to the top of the hillside—an ideal spot for stargazing. From there, feel free to explore the rest of the property or hike through the surrounding 100+ acre logging reserve. The Boulder Creek Golf and Country Club is also within walking distance, offering golf, disc golf, and dining at their bar and restaurant.

The Property

Tucked away at the top of our rustic 9-acre property in the heart of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Breathing Trees retreat makes for a luxury camping experience surrounded by majestic redwoods, firs, madrone, and oak trees. Home of the Tree Tents, you'll be just steps away from the creek and  hillside meadow with sweeping views of the Bonny Doon ridgeline. While our on-grid cabins share the property with our home—where we have two friendly basset hounds, eight chickens, two ducks, and a rooster to greet your mornings—the area offers plenty of privacy. You’ll have your own private fire pit, picnic table, BBQ grill, and hammock for relaxation.

The property is easy to access and conveniently located right off the main road, no remote access issues. You’ll be walking distance to the Boulder Creek Golf Course which boasts a lovely, 9-hole, redwood tree lined course, plus an 18-hole disc golf course. Your stay is only a 3 mile drive from town and 5.4 mile drive to Big Basin Redwoods State Park, California’s oldest state park with amazing trails and hiking. We are also 6 miles from the San Vicente Redwoods hiking and mountain biking trails. Beautiful open skies make for some amazing stargazing on clear nights. Santa Cruz's world-famous beaches, surfing, skateboarding, hiking, and mountain biking? You'll be there in 30 minutes. Silicon Valley? Yep, 30 minutes as well.

Though you’ll be staying in a luxury glamping setting, you’re in the wilderness and we’re fortunate to have frequent visits from wildlife, including deer, red-tailed hawks, bobcats, foxes, coyotes, mountain lions, skunks, squirrels, and various birds. Please respect their habitat and keep a safe distance. As with any forest environment, you may also encounter insects, both welcome and unwelcome. Dragonflies, pollinators, and butterflies are common, but so are mosquitoes, wasps, yellow jackets, and other biting insects. Be sure to bring insect repellent and any necessary allergy medications. While the property is well kept overall, poison oak and stinging nettles dot the landscape, so staying on the paths is recommended.

For safety, no wood-burning fires are allowed on the property, but propane fire pits are provided for your enjoyment.

We look forward to hosting you!
